I really enjoy sake, whether as a drink accompanying sushi, or mixed in Japanese-inspired cocktails. I already reviewed some Chairman’s Reserve Rums on the blog. Therefore, I was quite happy to get the chance to review the vintage version, too. Additionally, the rum seemed perfect for a banana laced Old-Fashioned variation.
I guess every new gin needs to have a special colour now. However, there are still great gins out there to discover. Especially, if it is a local one. In this case the Ocean Gin comes from the renown vineyard and distillery Fischer.
Simply put, this is my entry for Equiano Rum’s Interesting Narrative Cocktail Competition. Usually, I create a drink and then search for a fitting song as a title. However, this time I turned things around and created a drink for a specific song. Let us see how things turned out.
Since you can never have enough series going on, I thought I would start a new one. This time it is all about overproof eau de vies. While with whisky and rum overproof is a thing now, eau de vies are usually bottled at drinking-strength. So, we will take a closer look at some exceptions.
