Summer is the perfect time for sipping light and refreshing highballs. And what better way to enjoy those evenings than with a combination of light Japanese whisky with melon, sake and matcha?

The Home Bar Awards challenge for Mai 2023 was to create a bourbon ‘Session’ drink for the summer. This time, the competition was supported by Basil Hayden’s. After a little research, I came up with a simple recipe which takes a little bit more effort during preparation.
Sometimes you just have to remix drinks you had too long ago. In this case, the Highball might seem a bit boring at first glance. However, the Mizuwari Highball is more than its list of ingredients might suggest. On top of that, this gave me the excuse to present the Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky to […]
I really enjoy sake, whether as a drink accompanying sushi, or mixed in Japanese-inspired cocktails. This is why I was very happy to have one a care-package by Akashi-Tai on my friend Serge’s page Hungry Thirsty Bored. Through the suggestion of a fellow spirits blogger, I thought I give the Ki No Bi Gin line-up a chance. First up, I used the regular Ki No Bi Kyoto Dry Gin for a Martini-style highball using sake, vermouth and an olive lemonade. Besides that, the Ki No Bi also had to show how it […]
Today, April 19th is International Disaronno Day. So I thought, I would present you my version of the Disaronno Fizz. This easy combination of amaretto, lemon juice and soda water is just a perfect sipper for warmer days. Yet, I had to come up with a more elaborate combination without losing the characteristics of the […]
