Dry January – Coffee

Actually, I got inspired by my friend Johann from Cocktailbart. He posted a non-alcoholic cocktail which looked like an Espresso Martini a while ago. Yet, I took the drink in a different direction.

So, I kept the vinegar as well as the maple syrup from Johann’s recipe. However, I also added coffee, caramel Rooibos tea and a few drops of saline solution. Yes, I know Rooibos tea which tastes of something is heavily flavoured, but I needed some additional caramel notes in the recipe. Instead of balsamic vinegar, I went for apricot vinegar I had on hand.

Coffee:

4,5 cl Cold Bergbrand Kraftpaket Espresso
2,25 cl Caramel Rooibos Tea
1,5 cl Maple Syrup Grade C
1 Bsp. Gölles Apricot Vinegar
Shake – strain – chilled Cocktail glass;
Garnish: No garnish;
Song: Sylvan Esso – Coffee;

The drink not only looks like an Espresso Martini. Instead, you are clearly reminded of the original with alcohol. Yet, you would have to use a very smooth vodka to make the drink go down as easy as this non-alcoholic version. This also might be dangerous, because you probably be up all night after slinging three of these!
