Summer Drinks 2025 – Hey Rose
Manuel asked me to create a Spritz-style cocktail using one of his citrus eaux de vie. I was more than happy to oblige, simply combining the eau de vie with some syrup. As with all sparkling wine cocktails, the quality of the wine used is paramount.
FI had a hunch that floral notes would complement the clementine eau de vie well. So, I used the combination with rose syrup instead of an Aperitif liqueur in the recipe. Apart from that, I just kept the basic Spritz ingredients of soda water and prosecco. The Drusian Spumante Brut works extremely well here.
Easy refresher
1,5 cl Giffard Rose Syrup
Top off with Drusian Spumante Brut
Built – wine glass over ice cubes – top off;
Garnish: Lemon Twist;
Song: Son Little – Hey Rose;
The “Hey Rosey” combines beautiful citrus notes with the perfumed flavours of the rose syrup. Apart from that, the clementine eau de vie also works perfectly well with the sparkling wine. All in all, it is an easy summer refresher.
