There are a lot of new whisky distilleries out there which are doing something different. Yet, the combination of vaccum distillation and chestnut barrel ageing at least was new to me.
I held back with Negroni variations a bit, because I easily could only mix those. Maybe with the occasional Manhattan version thrown in. Despite, the name which still is kind of the working title, the drink does not taste half as crazy as it sounds.
Obviously, a great Dirty Martini only needs good gin and vermouth as well as some olive brine. Yet, it is also fun to add a little bit of ‘extra’ to the mix. Especially, if you have the perfect Dirty Martini gin on hand!
The spirit category I neglect the most definitely is vodka. However, every time I do get a new one, I tend towards Vesper variations. Luckily, I also got my hands on a great grape marc spirit to pair the vodka with.
What should you mix, when you have a juniper spirit on hand? Obviously, I had to come up with a Hanky Panky variation. Especially, when I also had a herbal liqueur from the same distillery on hand.
Diving deep into the backlog again. This is a Manhattan / Rum Manhattan hybrid, I came up with in the Christmas season 2022. Just in the spirit of that season, I added a healthy das of spices.
I was wondering if you could turn the peculiar Arsenic And Old Lace cocktail into a tropical drink. While the Original is weird, its mix of ingredients is also very intriguing. So, I set to work and this is the delicious result!
