Obviously, a great Dirty Martini only needs good gin and vermouth as well as some olive brine. Yet, it is also fun to add a little bit of ‘extra’ to the mix. Especially, if you have the perfect Dirty Martini gin on hand!
I thought long and hard on what to mix with Buckwheat whisky. First, I came up with a Blood & Sand variation. However, I also consulted my Flavor Bible and additionally found a great recipe to base my creation on.
How to call a crossover between a Harvard Cocktail and the Black Manhattan? Well, I chose a song with more than a touch of darkness in it as a title. On top of that, I am presenting a classic brandy, probably everybody has heard of.
We stay a little bit longer on the topic of American Whiskey. In this case, I am presenting a ‘wheated’ bourbon to you. What better way of using it in a cocktail than to combine it with some stone fruit flavours and make a Cameron’s Kick?!
Sometimes when you start a series, it is a bit hard to see it through. At the same time, even if you are concentrating on one drink, the versions are endless. However, let us get back on track with our little series on Martinis.
As you become older your taste changes and you are more and more drawn to bitter things. Maybe that’s the bitterness of life. Although I don’t consider myself particularly old or bitter I love bitters! That is why I have to keep myself from making a new flavor each week.
