The Next Level of Homemade Drinks
Finally, I am continuing with my German wine region series. Today we visit Rhine Hesse and enjoy a Sylvaner from Wagner Stempel. Some say that Rhine Hesse makes the better Silvaners compared to Franconia. Well, we will see about that and I also have a cliché pairing with asparagus for you.
The Rheingau region accounts for just 3 % of Germany’s total vineyard area. However, it has the highest percentage of Riesling, at around 78%. For this tasting, I have selected a Riesling from Peter Jakob Kühn, a pioneer of biodynamic farming.
The Palatinate the second largest wine region in the country. Obviously, there would have been a number of choices in the Riesling department. Yet, the warmer climate – compared to other German regions, makes it also possible to grow interesting red grapes. So, my choice fell on the Rings The Match 2018.

On with our series on German wine regions! In this article, we take a closer look at a wine from Franconia – my home-winegrowing region. In this case, I went with a “wild” choice of wine, but believe me this bottle is worth every penny.
