Tropical Month ’25 – Mai Tai
Ever since I got my hands on the Satoshi Curaçao, I wanted to mix up a Mai Tai with it. So, tropical month came as a welcome excuse to try it out. I can already reveal this much: It was a very tasty cocktail.
Apart from the Satoshi Curaçao, I also used a not so typical rum for the drink. I went for a rum blend, I did with a few friends of mine. Yet, the rum mainly uses rum from Guatemala as well as Belize. Jamaica rum is only the third biggest part in the mix.
Crowdpleaser Mai Tai
1,5 cl Satoshi Curaçao
3 cl Lime Juice
1,2 cl Meneau Orgeat
0,75 cl Salted Demerara Syrup (with Vanilla Extract)
Garnish: Long lime twist;
Song: James Vincent McMorrow – Post Tropical;
First, the mai tai has those typical flavours. Second, it is amazing how the curaçao changes the taste of the drink. Yes, there were not as much ester notes as I would prefer, but also the cocktail had more pronounced orange flavours, a little less sweetness and especially the orgeat came was more intense.
*The fact that I received a product reviewed in this article for free, did not – in any way – influence the rating of said product. The curaçao was provided by Satoshi.
