Dry January – La Llorona
I really did managed to come up with a non-alcoholic recipe without using caffein for a change. All in all, the different components all have an Arabic touch and just fell into place. It all started with sumac syrup.

Actually, I got inspired by my friend Johann from Cocktailbart. He posted a non-alcoholic cocktail which looked like an Espresso Martini a while ago. Yet, I took the drink in a different direction.
Actually, I am presenting two different spirits to you today. Just like the original Vieux Carré, I used a split base. Yet, instead of rye and cognac, I went with rum and a barrel aged raspberry eau de vie instead.
In fact, I wasn’t a big fan of the old sherry forward bottling ‘Story of the Spaniard’. Of course, it was not bad, but something was missing from it to make it special. Yet, the new Crimson Cask makes totally up for it! On top of that, I decided to mix a Black Manhattan variation […]

A friend recommended the Laphroaig Lore years ago. Yet, I only managed to review it just now. Obviously, this new The Cask Lore version is a single malt for sipping neat. However, I could not resist coming up with a cocktail recipe anyway.
The A Moment of Silence from Maks Pazuniak – inventor of the Angostura Sour – also uses a whopping amount of bitters. To be honest, I am not the biggest fan of that. Yet, I could not resist to try this crazy combination.
