Dry January – La Llorona
I really did managed to come up with a non-alcoholic recipe without using caffein for a change. All in all, the different components all have an Arabic touch and just fell into place. It all started with sumac syrup.

You often read that creating a good non-alcoholic cocktail is harder than creating one with booze. I totally agree, you have to make up for the lack of flavour and mouthfeel. For Dry January 2025, I rely heavily on caffeine.
Actually, I wanted to publish this post in New Year’s Eve. However, I only managed to finish it a day late, but I promise from tomorrow on it will only be Dry January content! Until now, I never had an elderberry eau de vie. Yet, I was too intrigued not to try it. Once again, […]

The Drunken Dodo was the cocktail I initially planned on mixing with the Plantation Trinidad Rum. It was on my ‘to mix’ list as long as I created a variation of it, I called ‘The Season’. So without further ado here it is!
Matthias and I not only share a first name, but also a passion for cocktails and spirits! Naturally, I had to remix one of his drinks. While it took me some time to find the perfect drink to showcase Matthias’ drink style, I am very happy with my choice. The From Soil to Smoke is […]
A friend recommended the Laphroaig Lore years ago. Yet, I only managed to review it just now. Obviously, this new The Cask Lore version is a single malt for sipping neat. However, I could not resist coming up with a cocktail recipe anyway.
