Dry January – Coffee
Actually, I got inspired by my friend Johann from Cocktailbart. He posted a non-alcoholic cocktail which looked like an Espresso Martini a while ago. Yet, I took the drink in a different direction.

This is a spontaneous idea I had which actually kills two birds with one stone. First, I am using this as an entry for the Mr. Black Quick Edit Challenge and second, I get another entry for September’s Home Bar Awards challenge. The whole drink is inspired by the seasons and me preparing yet another […]
Another instalment of my ongoing coffee series. We are continuing with a classic Italian-style blend from Neues Schwarz. The “Classic” consist of 70 % arabica and 30 % robusta beans. So let us see how this one turns out in an Espresso.
Next up in the coffee related series here on the blog, we are taking a closer look at another Italian style espresso blend. Similar to last time, there is a healthy dose of robusta in it, combining coffee from Brazil and India.
I wanted to write about coffee for a long time now. Probably, if I had to choose one more hobby besides mixing drinks it would be brewing coffee. So, I am now taking the time to take a closer look at coffees from different roasters. Let us begin with the maxpower espresso from the Maxbean […]

I already featured the different Eversbusch Doppelwachholders here on the blog. However, Peter Eversbusch always is in search of new products. This time, he infused his regular juniper spirit with craft coffee from a local coffee roaster. Since I am always up for coffee flavoured spirits I was looking forward to trying it.
Even though the Reisetbauer Blue Gin can almost be described as a classic gin. I did not have a chance to review it probably until now. To change that, I not only tried it in a Gin & Tonic, but also made Fizz style cocktail using a Nitro stout. On top of that, I also […]
To be honest, up until now I never made the original ubiquitous Espresso Martini. I always replaced the vodka with another spirit. Somehow, it never made sense to me to combine coffee flavours with a rather neutral spirit. So, this time I really stuck to the authentic recipe. Yet, I am also presenting another version […]
The second spirit from Empirical I want to present to you is also – let‘s call it „special“ – as the first one. „The Plum, I Suppose“ uses plum kernels as its base. Nevertheless, inspired by a Irish Coffee variation from Empirical, I came up with a coffee cocktail. The drink makes perfect use of […]
