The Best Is Yet To Come: Introduction

Lapsang Souchong
Do you know the times when you are lying in bed and trying to sleep but your mind is constantly wandering from one thought to another and doing everything else than falling asleep?

At those moments I start to think about cocktail recipes I could invent or I plan cocktail parties. In this case I came up with this drink related project and my motivation behind it. So here it goes: I dream up a lot of cocktail recipes and most of the time I don’t have the ingredients on hand, that means it takes a while until I get around to sample them. When I finally have the ingredients and can prepare them the odds are fifty-fifty if they work, or don’t.

If they taste good and get approved by my friends and family I can’t help but feel a little proud of myself for creating something “new”. But most of the times the story ends there. I make the cocktail a few times and after that the recipe disappears in a drawer and is forgotten.

I started this blog, to give me an opportunity to share my drink compositions with a broader audience. Moreover I will write about some recipes for homemade ingredients, which make drinks so much better.

Last but not least this project gives me the chance to combine three things I love: Drinks, photography and music. I think the last one needs a little context concerning cocktails. I draw a lot of inspiration from music. Most of the time it’s just the name for the drink, but sometimes it’s more than that. As a reference to that I am going to suggest a piece of music with every recipe, so that you can listen to it while sipping the cocktail.

I hope you enjoy my creations!
