One More Cup – Neues Schwarz Classic
Another instalment of my ongoing coffee series. We are continuing with a classic Italian-style blend from Neues Schwarz. The “Classic” consist of 70 % arabica and 30 % robusta beans. So let us see how this one turns out in an Espresso.
Neues Schwarz use the Yellow Bourbon arabica variety from Brazil and robusta coffee beans from India in their ”Classic” espresso blend. The arabica beans are pulped natural, while the robusta beans are washed.
Smoke, citrus and dark chocolate
The Neues Schwarz starts off with a classic combination of roasted flavours and dark chocolate. However, after a short while you can notice some citrus along with slightly smoky notes. There is a slight acidity in the taste reminding me of red fruits. Combine that with some vanilla and an aftertaste with more dark chocolate and you have a high quality Italian style espresso with some modern touches.
