Cornflakes Infused Milk Punch – Magdalene

With our wedding on the way, it is hard for me to find time for writing. Nevertheless, I want to share this short article on a tequila milk punch with you. The special thing about it is that I also added some flavour to the milk. Let us see how the drink turned out!

I have got the idea for the milk punch from a video I saw ages ago. There a guy infused the milk for the milk punch with fruit loops. Combine this with Milk Bar’s Cereal Milk and you have the inspiration for my cornflakes flavoured milk punch.

Basically a deconstructed Buttermilk Margarita

Besides the milk punch, I used the basic flavours of the Buttermilk Margarita. However, instead of quince jam I used a regional quince liqueur. On top of that, I added some lime eau de vie to go with the other flavours and used cedro infused tequila.

Magdalene:

3 cl Cedro Infused Topanito Blanco 50 % Tequila*
0,75 cl Hiebl Lime Eau de Vie
1,5 cl Rothe Quince Liqueur
3 cl Lime Juice
0,75 cl Agave Syrup
6 cl Whole Milk
Infuse milk with two tsp. of organic cornflakes – stir other ingredients – strain into milk – filter through coffee filter – built Old-Fashioned glass over ice;
Garnish: Lime Twist;
Song: Bear’s Den – Magdalene;

*Add leftover cedro peels (2 Tbsp.) from making Oleo Sacchurum to 200 ml of overproof blanco tequila – infuse for three days – bottle into clean bottle;

The “Magdalene” starts off with typical Margarita notes. – It is an iconic combination of agave spirit, lime and sweetness which is instantly recognisable. Additionally, you get some quince flavours from the liqueur as well as some more lime notes from the eau de vie. All in all, the different aspects of the drink become smoother through the milk filtration as well as more incorporated.
