Home Bar Awards 08/22 – Hey Snow White

The Home Bar Awards Challenge for August is all about cocktail mash-ups. So, I decided to randomly chose two drinks of the Difford’s Guide’s World’s Top 100 list. Luckily, with the P*** Star Martini and the Rum Sour I got two quite good draws. So, let us find out who the mash-up turned out!

Basically, what I did was turn on a random number generator from 1 to 100 and it returned 1 and 50. This means on Difford’s list the correspondent drinks are the P*** Star Martini and the Rum Sour.

A passionfruit flavoured sour

I guess I was lucky with the draws. Basically, I just chose rum instead of vodka as a base and added lime juice to make it a sour. Instead of just serving a small glass of champagne along side the drink, I topped the cocktail of with it. The last question to answer was which rum combination to use. After consulting with my friend Torben from Trinklaune, I chose a combination of 15-year-old Guyana rum and Jamaican Smith & Cross Rum.

Hey Snow White:

4 cl Kill Devil 15 Years Guyana Rum
2 cl Smith & Cross Jamaica Rum
1,5 cl Giffard Passionfruit Liqueur
3 cl Lime Juice
1,5 cl Homemade Vanilla Syrup*
1,5 cl Aqua Faba
Top off with Duval-Leroy Reserve Champagne
Shake over ice – fill – tropical glass;
Garnish: Lime Twist;
Song: The New P***graphers – Hey Snow White;

The “Hey Snow White” starts off with a beautiful combination of passionfruit notes and vanilla. The rum notes also play very nice into the mix. The combination of aged Guyana rum and Jamaican ester notes really works nice. Finally, the champagne adds some bubbles and winey notes to the mix .
