Lately, I have been diving a bit into Scotch again. It might have something to do that I joined a Whisky regular’s table. For a first article, I chose the Glengoyne Cask Strength and I tried to keep things fairly simple.
What should you mix, when you have a juniper spirit on hand? Obviously, I had to come up with a Hanky Panky variation. Especially, when I also had a herbal liqueur from the same distillery on hand.
I thought a while which cocktail I should mix first in our new apartment. While I am now big into Negronis and Manhattans, the drink that started the whole ‘craft’ cocktail thing for me was the Old-Fashioned!
Diving deep into the backlog again. This is a Manhattan / Rum Manhattan hybrid, I came up with in the Christmas season 2022. Just in the spirit of that season, I added a healthy das of spices.
One of the last drinks I mixed before Dry January 2024. I always enjoy mixing with Japanese whisky. In this case, I had the chance to create a Rob Roy variation with the Yoichi Single Malt.
This is the last drink of Agave Month 2024. Posted just in time for the end of March, due to ongoing move-related chaos here at the AB-headquarters. Yet, this Mezcal Margarita variation is too good not to share with you.
Even though I photographed a few cocktails before our move, I barely have time for anything else since. Yet, I still want to present to you this great agave-forward Old-Fashioned variation. It uses a combination of two tequilas which really adds a nice layer of complexity.
Well, you could call this a Magarita variation or a Agave White Negroni with lime… Whatever you want to call it. The drink really is delicious and a great addition for Agave Month 2024.
For the start of Agave Month 2024, I have something special for you. On one hand, the drink has mezcal as a base and on the other hand a green mandarin eau de vie. On top of that, the recipe is based on the Last Word cocktail.
