I always love to combine my travels with distillery visits. This time on our way to Vienna, we visited one of my favourite eau de vie distilleries – Reisetbauer. To make things short, the Reisetbauer distillery is well worth a visit!
It’s been a while since I tried different glasses for eau de vies. So, here is an update on which glass works for which fruit spirit. I tried eighteen different glasses with six different eau de vies. All in all, there were some surprises, but also some obvious discoveries.

I was instantly intrigued because I primarily use this style of fortified wine in cocktails. On top of that, I already had a bunch […]
For my second Home Bar Awards drink this month, I again used apples and gin. However, in contrast to my first cocktail using local ingredients, the drink turned out quite fruity. On the one hand this was due to the different apple flavours I added to the mix, but on the other hand I also […]
So, this month’s Home Bar Awards theme are “local ingredients”. Since, this is a topic close to my heart, I decided to come up with drinks with as many local ingredients as possible. Of course, this ruled out using citrus fruits for acidity. However, through the folks from Das Schwarze Schaf Bar in Bamberg I […]
