When you buy a fan kit from your favourite brewery which includes a beer called ‘Wanderlust’, you definitely have to come up with a hiking inspired beer cocktail! So, this is what I did with the ‘Wanderlust’ American Pale Ale from Orca Brau.
Contrary to some, who consider the Dry Martini as an Aperitif, I consider a good Aperitivo a low-ABV cocktail. When the drink also includes wine or beer, it is tempting to already sip them in the afternoon. However, even if you do not want to promote day drinking these light refreshers are also perfect for […]
I am almost too late for this month’s Home Bar Awards . I simply made a lot of beer cocktails a few weeks ago and I just was not in the mood for more. Nevertheless, I managed to come up with a Hemingway Daiquiri variation which not only includes a double IPA, but also a […]

Instead of Amer Picon, I chose an organic, Bavarian Amaro. […]

While of course Campari is great for mixing your Negronis and Boulevardiers, the new bitters on the block sometimes have a bit more flavour to offer. In this case, the Silvio Carta Bitter Roma Assoluto is an intense bitter which still manages to taste […]
So, this month’s Home Bar Awards theme are “local ingredients”. Since, this is a topic close to my heart, I decided to come up with drinks with as many local ingredients as possible. Of course, this ruled out using citrus fruits for acidity. However, through the folks from Das Schwarze Schaf Bar in Bamberg I […]
