Beercules – Stone Brewery Hazy IPA

Today I want to present a summery beer to you. It is also a hazy IPA which seem to catch on on this side of the pond, too. On top of that, the beer comes from the craft beer pioneers of the Stone Brewery, Escondido, CA. Prepare yourself for a danky flavour explosion!

Stone Brewery brews the Neverending Haze IPA in the USA. They took on the challenge of creating a very hoppy beer without making it a double IPA. So, in the end Stone Brewery used Mosaic and Citra hops for there hazy IPA, a beer style which is dominated by hop flavours without being too bitter. In the end, the resulting beer has an ABV of 4 % and 35 IBUs.

Well, the Stone Brewery Hazy IPA tastes of a bunch of citrus fruits. You can find lemon, mandarin and grapefruit notes in the bouquet as well as in the taste. To be honest, I did not even realize that the beer has “only” 4 % ABV, it tasted as good as regular proof IPAs. Apart from that, I also liked that the beer has multiplex flavours with delicate malt notes underneath. This way it does not taste one dimensional.
