Bonnie Hill – Ferrand Double Cask
Sometimes I do get ideas while browsing the internet. In this case, I discovered a new banana liqueur which spiked my interest. So, I combined it with some cognac for an Old-Fashioned variation.

I have to face it, my first love when it comes to spirits were whiskies. There is just no hiding the fact. This is why, I will try to feature a bit more of them on the blog. A new bottling which I could not stay away from was the Laphroaig 12 Years.
Of course we also had to try some peated Scotch at the Whisky Village 2026. Therefore, we visited Ardbeg and Laphroaig. Yet, we ended on a high note with some exclusive Japanese whisky. ‘Hidden’ smoky drams At the Glenmorangie and Ardbeg booth I was so blown away by the drams we tried that I forgot […]
The Macbeth whisky series is a cooperation of Elixir Distillers, Livingstone, Dave Broom as well as illustrator Sir Quentin Blake. There will be 42 whiskies in total in five acts. Flavoured rums are a thing for a while now, so it is no wonder that also some crazy ones pop up. In this case, we are reviewing the Cinecane Popcorn Rum. While that immediately evokes the association with cinema and therefore cola, I decided to go in a dessert cocktail style drink.
So, it is the limited gin editions season again. This year, Brewdog weighs in with a new flavour combination for their regular Lonewolf Gin. In this case, the Distiller’s Cut is flavoured with lime and two of the hottest chilli peppers in the world. Since this somehow reminded me of Mexico, I decided to come […]
So, this month’s Home Bar Awards challenge revolves around Bee’s Knees variations. This also means it is right up my alley, because I am a big fan of the original Bee’s Knees cocktail. However, since I did not get my hands on Barr Hill Gin which partnered with Home Bar Awards, I used a barrel-aged […]
The German whisky online shop Whic.de already bottles their own whisky. However, this edition is their first standard bottling. Following the current trend, the bottling is a heavily peated Islay Single Malt. So, let us see how the whisky turns out.
