Deep Green – Drilling Pistachio Eau de Vie
I made a drink with homemade pistachio orgeat a while back. When chatting with Torben about it, he suggested a Mai Tai variation with white overproof white rum and pistachio eau de vie.

I have to admit that I regularly neglect to remix interesting recipes. The reason for that is that I have a long backlog of already mixed drinks and an even longer one of recipe ideas. Yet, with the ‘Turnbuckle’ I managed to make the cocktail almost as soon as I discovered the recipe.
I heavily anticipated the arrival of the Ferrand Dry Curacao Yuzu. The regular one already is my go-to orange curacao, especially in Mai Tais. Obviously, I had to try the new one in a twist on that classic cocktail!
For those hot summer days the obvious choice of base spirit seems to be rum. However, I while ago I came up with a Mai Tai variation using two different whiskies. While this version might indeed be a bit too much for the really hot days, it turned out delicious nevertheless.
We stay a little bit longer on the topic of American Whiskey. In this case, I am presenting a ‘wheated’ bourbon to you. What better way of using it in a cocktail than to combine it with some stone fruit flavours and make a Cameron’s Kick?!

Not only does he continue the legacy of his family run distillery, but he also finds new and innovative ways to come up with new spirits. In this case, we take a look at Peter’s newest product the Jamaica rum barrel aged Wachholder.
When I tried the Mondino Senza in 2021, it won me over completely. Its natural taste combined with organic ingredients is just a perfect non-alcoholic ingredient for Spritzes and cocktails. So, for the Dry January 2022, I thought I come up with a few different recipes featuring it.
I am all for serious cocktails! I enjoy Amaros or hard to get by ingredients no one has ever heard off as much as the next guy. However, sometimes it is also ok to have fun for a change. In this case, the fun part comes in the form of the brownie flavoured Razel’s Rum. […]
The Cameron’s Kick is a cocktail I unfortunately disregarded so far. Somehow, I thought of it as a “dressed-up” Whiskey Sour. However, when I reviewed the Busker Irish Whiskey a few weeks back, I mixed up a variation of this classic cocktail. I was in for quite a surprise! Although I added a bit of […]
