The Next Level of Homemade Drinks
It has been years ago that I first read about aquavit which uses dill as an ingredient. Now that I got my hands on a bottle I was very curious to try it. It does not really come as a surprise that the suggested serve with a tonic water works very well.
I have tried a few mandarin eau de vies so far, but I never had one distilled from clementines. Of course, those two citrus varities are quite similar that is why you can only but clementines as fresh fruits. Yet, this did not stop me from using the spirit in another summer highball.
You often read that creating a good non-alcoholic cocktail is harder than creating one with booze. I totally agree, you have to make up for the lack of flavour and mouthfeel. For Dry January 2025, I rely heavily on caffeine.
I really enjoy sake, whether as a drink accompanying sushi, or mixed in Japanese-inspired cocktails. This is why I was very happy to have one a care-package by Akashi-Tai on my friend Serge’s page Hungry Thirsty Bored. Instantly, I came up with a sake based highball, which is light, but also very refreshing.
