The Next Level of Homemade Drinks
Lately, I have been diving a bit into Scotch again. It might have something to do that I joined a Whisky regular’s table. For a first article, I chose the Glengoyne Cask Strength and I tried to keep things fairly simple.
For those hot summer days the obvious choice of base spirit seems to be rum. However, I while ago I came up with a Mai Tai variation using two different whiskies. While this version might indeed be a bit too much for the really hot days, it turned out delicious nevertheless.
It has been a long time since I made an Old-Fashioned variation. So, I thought I give it a try when reviewing a barrel aged walnut eau de vie. On top of that, I also have a great value-for-money rum from Barbados.
For my last drink in my small series on drinks with eau de vie from the Scheibel Distillery, I went for a Lion’s Tail variation. Apart from the addition of some Mirabell eau de vie, I stayed quite true to the original specs. So, let us see how this allspice laced cocktail turned out!
It took quite a while, but here is my cocktail creation using my souvenir from our Canada / USA trip. For the WhistlePig Piggy Back Rye, I chose an Old-Fashioned variation with Canadian ingredients.
