Adeline – Axberg Vodka
The spirit category I neglect the most definitely is vodka. However, every time I do get a new one, I tend towards Vesper variations. Luckily, I also got my hands on a great grape marc spirit to pair the vodka with.

One of the last drinks I mixed before Dry January 2024. I always enjoy mixing with Japanese whisky. In this case, I had the chance to create a Rob Roy variation with the Yoichi Single Malt.
I heavily anticipated the arrival of the Ferrand Dry Curacao Yuzu. The regular one already is my go-to orange curacao, especially in Mai Tais. Obviously, I had to try the new one in a twist on that classic cocktail!
It really has been a long time until I got my hands on this special cognac. Mizunara oak cask ageing is en vogue right now. However, only the Maison Tessendier produces Mizunara cask finished cognacs. In this case, they took a cognac from the Borderies region and finished it in Japanese Mizunara casks for half […]
One trend with gin is to come up with special seasonal editions. This is just what Citdalle did with their Jardin d’Ete version. On top of a number of different citrus fruits, the gin also uses melons as a special botanical. This is why, I decided to come up with a fresh and summery Highball […]
Through the suggestion of a fellow spirits blogger, I thought I give the Ki No Bi Gin line-up a chance. First up, I used the regular Ki No Bi Kyoto Dry Gin for a Martini-style highball using sake, vermouth and an olive lemonade. Besides that, the Ki No Bi also had to show how it […]
Liquorice, it is one of those flavours which parts nations! Either you love it or you hate it and there is not much left in between. I am counting myself to the first group of people and therefor I was very curious to try the liquorice lemonades made by The Drinking Ape. So, if you […]
When doing research for an article about the Negroni I stumbled on the Harajuku cocktail. The special thing about this Negroni variation was its use of Hibiki Blended Japanese Whisky. Since, the big aricle on everyones favourite bitter drink will take some more time and planning, I set out to see if I could create […]
Probably everyone who enjoys the occasional rum will know the Plantation rum range. However, every now and then they manage to sneak in a new bottle of rum under my radar. This was exactly the case with the new and limited Plantation Black Cask 1951. Just like Johnny Cash’s version of the theme song from […]
As promised yesterday here is a new cocktail using my homemade yuzu cordial. This time I went not the easy way of combining it with gin, but instead used a local ingredient: Malt liqueur made by the Hausbrauerei Altstadthof here in Nuremberg.
