Northern Air – Stauning Høst
Stauning’s blended malt has been given a makeover. It now comes in a beautiful, unique bottle. This gave me the chance to review the Høst whisky. On top of that, I also created a cocktail inspired by nordic flavours.

It’s been a while since I tried different glasses for eau de vies. So, here is an update on which glass works for which fruit spirit. I tried eighteen different glasses with six different eau de vies. All in all, there were some surprises, but also some obvious discoveries.
It took me over a year to get around to mix this drink. However, the good thing is that I know had the perfect Scotch whisky for the recipe. The Glengoyne 12 Years worked perfectly well in this summery Rob Roy variation.

As a roundup of our lates American Whiskey tasting, I decided to mix cocktails with at least some of the whiskeys in the tasting. The start of this little series marks a drink inspired by the local cuisine of the Northeast. All of that resulted in a kind of Old-Fashioned variation using the Michter’s Sour […]
Simply put, this is my entry for Equiano Rum’s Interesting Narrative Cocktail Competition. Usually, I create a drink and then search for a fitting song as a title. However, this time I turned things around and created a drink for a specific song. Let us see how things turned out.
Since you can never have enough series going on, I thought I would start a new one. This time it is all about overproof eau de vies. While with whisky and rum overproof is a thing now, eau de vies are usually bottled at drinking-strength. So, we will take a closer look at some exceptions.
