Tribute to a King – Paul Bara Brut Reserve
This is actually the last drink I mixed in our old apartment. Yet, I was not happy with the pictures I took in a hurry. So, I remixed the drink and also used the chance to present you a tasty champagne.

I got a long backlog of drinks I did not get around to write about. However, the list of cocktail ideas is even longer. Well, this time I am presenting an absolutely delicious cocktail to you. However, I do not really recall what the motivation behind it was.
Usually, I am not for the descriptive names. However, this time the drink is exactly what the name suggests – A Julep variation using calamansi as the main flavour. Apart from that, I combined a wheated bourbon with rye whiskey for the spirit base here.
Obviously, if you get your hands on a high-quality spirit, you first enjoy it on its own. However, even when it seems exuberant, excellent spirits may result in outstanding cocktails. This is why I decided to pair the lavish mirabelle plum eau de vie from Spiritus Rex with a limited edition rum from Barbados in […]
In a line with last year, I came up with a tropical Champagne cocktail. This time it was inspired by the classic Hurricane. Apart from that, I had a new Irish Whiskey as well as an Amaro to review and a homemade blueberry preserves from my mother-in-law. So, it was the obvious choice to come up with a […]
Obviously, I could not visit the Slyrs distillery, without creating a cocktail using one of their single malts. This is why I am presenting the Bavarian Smash to you today. It basically is a highproof version of my PX Jerez Smash. Nevertheless, because of the Slyrs 51, it is noticeably different.
Well, this article is actually about two cocktails and they both have nothing to do with Alice In Wonderland. Instead, the article is about the two American whiskies from the Wild Turkey distillery. Both, the bourbon and the rye whisky are bottled at 100 proof which is the first good sign for a quality whisky. […]
After diving into rye whiskies some weeks ago, it is time to take a closer look at some other American whiskeys as well! In this case, it is all about an unconventional and therefore rather special whiskey. The Dry Fly Port Barrel Wheat Whisky is finished in huckleberry wine barrels. This is why, it is […]
