Dry January – Roses
I was intrigued by Mizudashi Sencha tea through an ad by Yoshien. So, I came up with a recipe using Sencha Sakura rose tea. On top of that, I had some Muri Yamilé left, so I combined those.

Orange Curaçao is a staple of any cocktail or home bar. Yet, there are just a few high-quality ones out there. This new one comes from Satoshi combines orange eau de vie with Italian brandy and some sugar. I just had to try it in a Margarita variation.
A short break from Tropical Month 2023 for this month’s Home Bar Awards challenge and Soundtrack My Friend’s Drink Vol. 13. Just in time for Valentine’s Day the task was to draw inspiration from a love or heartbreak song. In this case, I chose the song ‘Wings of Love’ from the supergroup LIV.
Well, there are really too much gins out there. It is impossible to keep up with the already existing qualities and than there still are new releases. However, today I want to write about a gin which caught my attention a few years ago. Yet, it took until now for me to get around to […]
Another holiday inspiration was an aronia lemonade I discovered in Passau. Luckily, the Heimat Kracherl lemonade is also available in an organic supermarket at home. Therefore, I started wondering which Highball to mix with it. Well, in the end I did not go for gin, but for two eau de vies.

In the already underappreciated category of eau de vies, there even more obscure bottlings exist. In this case, I am talking about a cornelian cherry eau de vie from renown Austrian producer Guglhof. Furthermore, this special spirit is a cuvee with some sloe eau de vie in the mix. Well, let us find out how […]

While I have too many bottles stacking up here to really participate in Dry January, I applaud the idea. On top of that, I have to admit that I am treating non-alcoholic cocktails more like an afterthought. Nevertheless, I do believe that creating a good non-alcoholic cocktail is more difficult than creating one with booze. […]
Before I go on holiday, I wanted to get a small article out there before Summer ends. What would be more suitable for this than a sweet and slightly bitter Italian liqueur. On top of that, its creator Guiseppe Gallo revives an old Italian liqueur category with his Italicus.
