Remixed! – Eeyore’s Requiem

The Eeyore’s Requiem by Toby Maloney really is a cocktail for expert level Negroni drinkers. Since I cannot get enough of bitter cocktails, I had to try it in my Remixed! series.

While it took some time, I did finally manage to mix up the Eeyore’s Requiem. However, I had to make some adjustments. Instead of Dolin Blanc, I went with the excellent, but a bit drier Goelles Semi-Dry Vermouth. I also did not have Junipero and used Zealot’s Heart Gin instead.

Quite the bitter kick

Yes, there a certain aspects in the aroma and taste of the “Eeyore’s Requiem” still reminding you of a Negroni. Yet, the bitterness is far more pronounced with the Cynar and the mint flavours from the Fernet showing through. This drink definitely is not for the faint hearted and you need to be a lover of all things bitter to really appreciate it.
