So Far, So Good – Compass Box Orchard House
I know it is Dry January, but here is a drink I already mixed up in December. On top of that, this is a great drink using Scotch whisky and a variation of another drink I made last year.

For Adam’s Christmas edition of Soundtrack My Friend’s Drink, I created a seasonal cocktail for Peter Ross. Browsing through his posts, I got the idea to come up with a Christmassy Garibaldi variation. Brace yourself for some cacao and eau de vie in this!
Here is a drink with a new rum from Drinksyndikat. Actually, the rum itself is not at all new, but instead was marked by Wagemut before. Drinksyndikat basically adopted the recipe from Nicolas Kroeger. For the cocktail I went for a Paper Plane variation.
It is volume number 11 of Soundtrack my Friend’s Drink! This time Adam chose a partner who picked a song for us. While my song chosen by Shelby Mastro was not exactly what I like to hear, I still came up with a tasty drink for it.
Until now, my favourite cocktail using Fernet was the Hanky Panky. While this still is a great one, a “new” contender arose – The Toronto Cocktail. Since I had a new Fernet on hand, I thought I would give it a try!
After visiting Amor Y Amargo, I had a really deep craving for Amaro cocktails. So, when I found Sother Teague’s Pumpernickel cocktail and I also had all the ingredients on hand. I just could not wait to restir it.
Every October, Brockman’s Gin proclaims Brocktober! This means that for every Brocktail sold 1 € is donated to aid German flood victims. On top of that, it is also a cocktail challenge and for each like Brockman’s donates 10 cents. Here is my entry which I based on red liquorice sweets from Denmark.
Sometimes you have to revisit old drinks you created! In this case, I went back to my signature Augustine-Bar Rum Barrel recipe and gave it an update. Additionally, I can use the chance to present a rum from Saint Lucia to you!
While my first love are spirits and cocktails, I am also a bit into wine. So, when I got the chance to try a organic orange wine, I was all for it! The Orange Gold from Gerard Bertrand also sounded like the perfect base for a nice autumnal Spritz!
There have been a lot of American whiskey drinks here on the blog lately. So, it is time to mix things up a bit, but not too much. This is why we stay with whiskey, but this time with a Scotch and Irish Whiskey combination. The Jungle Bird seemed like the perfect drink for it.
