The Next Level of Homemade Drinks
There are a lot of bitter liqueurs out there. Some are as bitter as Campari. Others are meant to be used as an aperitive. In this case, the folks behind the 20457 Hafencity Gin decided to come up with a slightly bitter and grapefruit forward Aperitivo.
When one of the most famous German bartenders launches his own liqueur, you just have to try it! So, this is exactly what I did. Especially when it is a Crème de Cacao. A lot of my favourite cocktails like the Twentieth Century use this delicious liqueur. Fortunately, I already had a recipe in mind.
In contrast to my trip to the States, I did not have to travel that far for this new report. Nevertheless, it is about a city every bit as interesting: Hamburg, also has many culinary delights to offer! Besides having great coffee, food and drinks, we also visited another gin distillery!

This year’s C&D meeting took place in Hamburg and was clouded by a nationwide rail strike. We still somehow managed to get to this great city in the North and met up at a trendy burger restaurant. However, great burgers along with nice drink creations were just the start of many great things to come!
