Soundtrack my Friend’s Drink – STS

It is volume number 11 of Soundtrack my Friend’s Drink! This time Adam chose a partner who picked a song for us. While my song chosen by Shelby Mastro was not exactly what I like to hear, I still came up with a tasty drink for it.

The song “Save that S***” by Lil Peep is not the kind of hip hop I am into. However, there is nothing wrong with leaving the comfort zone a bit. Since there is a lot of swearing in the song, I remembered Jamie Boudreau’s WTF? Cocktail. So, I based my drink the “STS” on his and was ready to go.

Cognac, Bonal and cacao

Instead of Tennessee Whisky as in the original, I went with cognac. It is a hip hop song after all. Yet, I used the Camus Ile de Re, because it is a bit rough around the edges which seemed fitting. I kept the Bonal and the crème de cacao and just replaced the Jägermeister with Fernet.

STS:
View in: de en
6 cl Camus Ile de Re Cognac
1,5 cl Bonal Gentiane Quina
0,75 cl Tempus Fugit Creme de Cacao
0,75 cl Luxardo Fernet
Stir – strain – chilled cocktail glass;
Garnish:Lemon Coin;
Song: Lil Peep – Save that S***;

The “STS” starts off with a complex mix of cognac, gentian root and Fernet flavours. There a quite some bitter notes going on, but the cognac and the crème de cacao greatly balance it out.
